End User Consulting Services

EEC provides the following services to our clients to ensure business continuity, energy efficiency and a sound electrical infrastructure.

Project Feasibility

Due to the technical and financial complexity it is highly recommended to have the study done by professionals specialising in both fields. The EEC team consists of qualified engineers as well as financial and commercial experts in order to offer a professional accurate feasibility study.

The project feasibility can be divided into two options. The first being a basic pre-feasibility study requiring an electricity account (or the clients average electricity tariff and average monthly consumption) as well as the client’s address. From this, EEC can produce a pre-feasibility report indicating the financial and technical validity of the project. This option would not be 100 % accurate due to the limited nature of the input data.

The second option would be to conduct a full feasibility study including a site assessment as an energy audit (please see Site assessments and energy audit for more detail). This option would yield more accurate results as well as reduce costs when it comes to the later stages like the detailed design because the data required would already be available.

Site Assessment

EEC utilises its vast industry specific knowledge to analyse all the physical aspects of the site. This includes the ideal location for the PV panels, UPS or back-up system, batteries and other sensitive equipment to ensure optimal performance as well as longevity. The site inspection is also critical in identifying the most cost-effective solution.

Energy Audit

EEC has a team of qualified and professional engineers who, utilising sophisticated tools and technology, can ascertain your current energy consumption and power requirements by conducting an Energy Audit. Once the EEC team has the required information it is easy to advise on best practice, renewable energy (including PV Solar energy) and energy efficient solutions to optimise your power consumption, increase cost savings as well as ensure continuity of supply.

Requirements Specification

EEC takes great care to understand exactly what the requirements of the client are. Once the requirements are clearly understood and defined, they are methodically translated in a technical requirement specification which can be used to obtain quotations from suppliers. EEC is independent and has vast industry knowledge. EEC can therefore ensure that the solution fits the requirement and can prevent suppliers from over sizing of the system to increase their sales, or from suppling inferior equipment. EEC can also help to avoid systems being offered which would not meet the client’s requirements. EEC specialises in the requirements specification of Renewable Energy, Power Security, Business Continuity, Energy Efficiency and Smart Automation.

Proposal or Quotation Analysis

Due to the lack of regulations and regulatory institutions in South Africa, as well as the ease of importing hardware, it is extremely important that the technology offered be evaluated to make sure the quotation meets the requirements as well as meeting the specified quality and life expectancy standards.

It is equally important to ensure that the stated financial indicators in quotations are true and accurate. Because of the complexity and technical variances of the systems, assumptions and algorithms used to achieve the financial indicators, could potentially be misleading.

In order to ensure accurate assessments and greater value to its clients, EEC has professional and specialised graduate staff. Our company combines many years’ of experience with modern technology. Our clients can be assured that the techno-economic studies conducted when evaluating the proposals and quotation by EEC are both technically and financially correct.

Project Support

After selecting the best possible offering which is in line with the budget, as well as the requirements of the client, EEC works with the client throughout the installation process and our engineers would conduct inspections at certain points in the project and offer project support throughout the project implementation.

Once everything has been installed and the system needs to be commissioned and handed over to the client, EEC, together with the client, will make sure the system installed complies with the designs as well as meeting the proposed specifications.
